These small bore fifes are one piece, six hole, simple bore instruments
with plain finger holes and round embouchere, designed to accommodate
players who desire the small bore instrument that was popular in
the 19th century along with the more traditional bore fife. The
small bore makes these instruments easy to play for a beginner,
with the high register particularly accessible, but also leads to
the intonation problems that are universal in this type of fife.
These model fifes are also suitable for existing fife lines that
play with most models of old Ferrary fifes, or some of the other
small bore instruments. Both models are packaged in a wood box with
finger chart/tune sheet.

This fife is visually patterned on 19th century antiques from such
makers as Hall and Firth Pond, with a slight taper to the silhouette
and short brass ferrules. The pitch is a slightly sharp version
of Folk Bb.
